OPERATIONS

Bridging the gap in education

The Bridge School, inaugurated on Feb 05, 2012, in Gulistan-e-Jauher, Karachi, began with 60 students in 2012-13, expanding to 220 in various grades. Classes started on March 1, 2012. The school charges a nominal fee of Rs 400/month covering all expenses. This fee ensures commitment, and discounts up to 100% are available for those unable to pay. With a monthly expense of Rs. 180,000 for 203 students, tuition fees cover Rs. 70,000, while the Rs. 110,000 shortfall is met through donations and book sales. The school has 15 paid staff members, including trained and experienced teachers. The immediate goal is to enroll 400 students.

ACADEMIA

Ensuring High Level Of education

TBS follow the Cambridge system with three term-exams and monthly assessments to monitor student and teacher performance closely. After each assessment, we organize parent-teacher meetings for updates and feedback. Our SMS service keeps parents informed about strikes, holidays, exams, attendance, and progress. Strict disciplinary action is taken for unexplained absences exceeding three days. Computer classes for Grades 1 to 4 are integrated into the timetable, and students show great enthusiasm, often staying after school to learn.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

To help fostering growth apart from academics

TBS prioritizes co-curricular activities, subscribing to international educational organizations and programs like the Maker Movement and Best of Parenting. The Maker Movement provides technical support for student projects, including activities like painting, planting, cleaning, cooking, and more. TBS frequently organizes Friday activities, such as celebrating national and international days and arranging visits to historical and picnic places to inspire children.

TEACHERS

To effectively communicate the concepts to the students

Every six months, TBS sponsors two teachers for a diploma course in the Montessori Method at the American Montessori Institute. T hese teachers integrate new concepts into their daily teaching, contributing to the success of quality education. In-house training sessions are conducted twice a week for junior teachers, fostering their growth in modern teaching methods. To enhance student well-being, a full-time psychologist will be hired to assess each child, addressing attendance issues for 3 to 4-year-olds. Additionally, TBS plans to develop user-friendly computer software for comprehensive data management, covering attendance, performance, timetables, results, personal information, accounts, and activities.

SOCIETY

To alleviate the financial strain of education

TBS alleviates the financial strain of education, offering children the opportunity for personal and academic growth. By instilling knowledge, we aim to open doors to employment, enabling them to elevate their socioeconomic status. Our broader goal is to raise awareness about education in Karachi and surrounding areas, striving for improved living standards. TBS focuses on transforming students into well-mannered individuals, creating a ripple effect that influences parents, families, friends, and society at large. This ongoing process not only provides quality education but also inspires students to envision positive changes in their environment and society.

MONITORING & EVALUATION

Ensuring transparency in the Child

We implement a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation plan for both students and teachers, utilizing syllabi from Oxford University Press and New Century, including teaching materials and evaluation plans provided by them. Regular surprise tests gauge students’ understanding, providing an accurate picture of subject comprehension. Our internal monitoring system, aligned with printed academic calendars, ensures adherence to schedules. These calendars, distributed to students and staff, outline daily activities, important celebrations, holidays, and assessment dates. Additionally, our SMS service helps combat truancy by notifying parents if a student misses three consecutive days of school.
